Ridiculous. Should we be surprised that cartoons have some one-dimensional stereotypical characters? Does anyone care that the villains in most Disney movies have British accents? I guess you could psychoanalyze that into some sort of white guilt or something or just realize that it's a cartoon character.

This is a factor for some people, but not the major one. There are two much bigger things that deter people from Linux: familiarity and software. Most people want an operating system that looks familiar. Most first time computer buyers will want the same OS their friends have or the same OS they have used at school or work. I remember my high school was full of macs---Apple was giving them good deals. I'm sure part of it was philanthropic, but Apple was mostly marketing to future computer owners. There are certain programs most people want on a computer. Older people usually want MS Office and the like---their are free alternatives but only very computer geeks mind having to translate formats to send someone else a document. Younger people either want games or they just want something for internet use. Linux has games, but not the mainstream ones; people who just want to chat, blog, e-mail, etc. will get whatever is most accessible. The people who want Linux are geeks. That's all that's left: people who are interested in knowing what a kernel is, who want to know how to compile a program from source, who write scripts for fun. That's why Linux won't be mainstream---ever. . . and I'm fine with that.

I read the last frame first. It wasn't funny. Then I read the other frames. They weren't funny either.

Stereotypical humor is often funny, but this fails
